The City of Bath is a World Heritage site, located just 25 minutes from The Lighthouse and visited by travellers from all over the world. Bath and the stunning countryside surrounding it, is thought to be one of the most beautiful places in England. With its Roman Baths, Georgian architecture, museums and the magnificent Bath Abbey, there is a wealth of history to discover.
Bath is also known to be an excellent shopping destination, with well known stores on Milsom Street (high street) and individual shops and boutiques down the many side streets and cobbled areas around the Abbey. In 2010, the newly developed Southgate shopping area opened, offering all the most popular brands in a spacious and beautifully modern part of the town centre.
In recent years, Thermae Bath Spa has opened to the public, for those who wish to soak up the warm mineral-rich waters in a rooftop pool overlooking the city, or relax in the steam rooms.
Bath has a superb selection of top quality restaurants and cafés, and it would be fair to say that Bath is a ‘foodie’ town, with various fairs and events running throughout the year, featuring the latest culinary trends and tips from the many local celebrity chefs.
