ROYAL CITY OF BATH
The City of Bath, a World Heritage City just 25 minutes from The Lighthouse, is visited by hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world. Bath and the stunning countryside surrounding is one of England's most beautiful places to visit. It is a unique city; its hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents have attracted visitors for centuries.
Nunney Castle is a 5 minute drive away - the striking and picturesque moated castle was built in the 1370s and offers visitors some interesting history, a beautiful walk and a visit to a beautiful Somerset Village.
The much loved city of Wells is within 20 minutes from the Lighthouse, with its majestic C12th cathedral, beautiful medieval cobbled streets, Bishop's Palace and moat. As well as the historic landmarks, Wells has some lovely boutique shops and cafes close to the Cathedral which are also lovely to walk around and explore.
STOURHEAD - NATIONAL TRUST
Just 15 minutes drive away, Stourhead is secluded in its own private valley. Stourhead features one of the world's finest landscape gardens. The 18th-century design centres on the magnificent lake, surrounded by classical temples, enchanting grottos and rare and exotic trees.
Explore Cheddar Gorge, Britain's biggest gorge from the dramatic cliffs rising 450ft to the stunning stalactite caverns. This world-famous beauty spot is a National Nature Reserve, reveals many fascinating stories of from prehistoric times, and is an international centre for caving and rock climbing.
